Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed profound sorrow following the death of Ahmad Bunkure.
The newly appointed Special Adviser on Works died on Wednesday in Egypt.
The news of Bunkure’s death was confirmed in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi DawakinTofa, on Wednesday.
In his message of condolence, Governor Yusuf described Bunkure’s passing as a tragic and irreplaceable loss to the state, his family, and the broader political community.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and for strength for his family during this difficult time.
“This is a deeply sorrowful moment for us as a government,” the governor said. “Bunkure was a committed professional, and his expertise was key to advancing our administration’s vision for development. His loss is felt profoundly.”
Bunkure had only been sworn in as Special Adviser on Works a day before his untimely death, making the tragedy even more shocking.
Condolences have poured in from across the state, including from Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, and members of the Kano State Government.
