The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ,JAMB, has announced that it will not process admissions for the Law programme at eight universities due to the suspension of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, explained that the Council of Legal Education had suspended the law programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session because the affected institutions failed to adhere to regulatory guidelines.
The affected universities include Kwara State University, Malete; Bingham University, Karu; Redeemer’s University, Ede; Western Delta University, Oghara; Taraba State University, Jalingo; Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo; Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike; and the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil.

Benjamin further clarified that the suspension at the Nigerian Police Academy will span two academic sessions: 2025/2026 and 2026/2027.
As a result, JAMB will not approve any admissions for candidates wishing to pursue a Law degree at these universities for the 2025/2026 session.
The ban will also apply to the Nigerian Police Academy through the 2026/2027 academic session.
