TikTok has reinforced its commitment to user safety by deleting more than two million videos in Nigeria between july and september 2024.

The latest Q3 community guidelines enforcement report shows that 99.1% of these videos were removed within 24 hours, demonstrating the platform’s efficiency in detecting and eliminating harmful content.

With millions of videos uploaded daily, TikTok continues to leverage advanced technology to identify and remove inappropriate content before it reaches users.

In the third quarter of 2024, over 147 million videos were taken down globally, with 118 million removed through automation. In Nigeria, 92.1% of flagged videos were eliminated even before users reported them.

The report outlines the key categories of content that led to takedowns in Nigeria:

Sensitive and mature themes – 99.4% of flagged videos were removed proactively.

Regulated goods and commercial activities – 99.1% of content related to scams and illegal trade was swiftly deleted.

Mental and behavioral health Violations – 99.9% of such videos were taken down to protect vulnerable users.

TikTok emphasizes that its mission to inspire creativity and bring joy goes hand in hand with maintaining a safe and secure online environment.
