Suspected armed robbers have killed Reverend Buba Galadima, the pastor of Evangelical Church Winning All in Lubo, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The attack happened in the early hours of Sunday when the assailants invaded the pastor’s residence. Witnesses said the attackers fired multiple gunshots upon arrival, creating panic in the community.
Reports indicate that Galadima was shot in the upper back, suggesting he was trying to escape. A resident said the gunmen first raided the Evangelical Church Winning All before breaking into a nearby house, stealing N300,000, and ransacking the property.
Afterwards, they moved to Galadima’s home, where he was shot. The attack has left the community in deep mourning.
Gombe State Police Command confirmed the incident, describing it as a case of robbery. Commissioner of Police Bello Yahaya visited the hospital where the pastor’s body was taken and stayed until 5 a.m. to assess the situation.
A special squad of police officers has been deployed to track down the perpetrators. The police assured residents that those responsible would be arrested and brought to justice.
