Super Eagles and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze may soon bid bye to the Italian club, with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas showing strong interest in signing him this summer.
The 25-year-old joined the Rossoneri from Villarreal in 2023 but has struggled to establish himself as a key player. Since new manager Sergio Conceicao took charge, Chukwueze has played only 82 minutes, further diminishing his role at the San Siro.
Chukwueze’s representatives have presented him as an option to Besiktas, and the club has wasted no time in initiating talks to bring him to Turkey. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who now leads Besiktas, has approved the move, considering the Nigerian a valuable addition to his squad. The club is working on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, aiming to persuade Milan to let him go.
In January, Chukwueze was linked with a transfer to Fulham, but the deal fell through due to timing issues. Milan’s technical director had previously expressed satisfaction that the winger remained at the club. However, with the club keen on recouping the fee spent to bring him from Villarreal, an exit now seems likely.
Realizing he is not part of Milan’s long-term plans, Chukwueze is seriously considering a move to Besiktas to revive his career. His close friend, Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has spoken positively about the Turkish league, further influencing the winger’s decision.
A move to Besiktas would benefit both clubs and the player. Milan would free up space in the squad, while Chukwueze would have the opportunity to rediscover the form that initially attracted the Italian giants.
