President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson as Special Adviser on Job Creation and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, and Mrs. Uju Anwuka as Senior Special Assistant on Public Health.

Both will serve in the Office of the Vice-President.

The appointments are part of efforts to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on economic development and improved public welfare.

A statement from the presidency confirmed that both officials had previously held similar roles, with Adekunle-Johnson serving as Senior Special Assistant and Anwuka as Special Assistant.

Adekunle-Johnson has played a significant role in driving policies that support small businesses and job creation. Under his leadership, key initiatives such as the Expanded National MSME Clinics and the Shared Facility Initiative have been implemented to provide support and resources for entrepreneurs across Nigeria.

His contributions also extend to strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with music star Tuface Idibia to boost public awareness and support for MSMEs. The partnership underscored the administration’s commitment to innovative solutions for job creation and economic empowerment.

On the public health front, Anwuka has been instrumental in tackling malnutrition and hunger, particularly in vulnerable communities. One of her key initiatives is the Nutrition 774 Initiative, a nationwide program aimed at improving nutritional standards in all 774 local government areas.

Her efforts align with the administration’s broader objective of enhancing public health, with a focus on reducing food insecurity and promoting well-being in underserved populations.

The presidency stated that these appointments take effect immediately, positioning the new appointees to continue their work in economic and public health development.

With their track records in policy implementation and community impact, Adekunle-Johnson and Anwuka are expected to play crucial roles in shaping the administration’s strategies for job creation and public health in the coming years.
