Veteran Nigerian musician Chinagorom Onuoha, popularly known as African China, has joined the ongoing 30-day Rant Challenge on social media. The movement, which has been gaining traction, encourages Nigerians to voice their frustrations over economic and political issues.

In a video shared online, African China and his children sang along to his song “Photocopy (Dagbo),” which highlights Nigeria’s economic struggles. The song, released in 2022, critiques the government and political leaders for their failure to fulfil promises. The music video features African China wearing a National Youth Service Corps uniform, symbolizing the struggles young graduates face in the country.

His participation in the challenge also serves as a show of support for corps member Ushie Rita Uguamaye. She trended recently after publicly criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Her viral video sparked the 30-Day Rant Challenge, where Nigerians express their grievances about the state of the nation.

African China is widely known for his socially conscious music. His 2003 hit single “Mr. President” is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most politically charged songs, addressing socioeconomic injustice and government inefficiency. Over the years, he has continued to use his music as a tool to shed light on societal issues, with tracks like “Crisis,” “Our Government Bad,” and “Letter to Mr. President.”

Beyond his music, the singer has also spoken out against the involvement of entertainers in politics. In a past interview, he urged fellow artists to avoid endorsing politicians, arguing that such endorsements contribute to the continued suffering of the masses. His stance has earned him a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most outspoken musicians when it comes to governance.

With his latest participation in the 30-Day Rant Challenge, African China once again reinforces his role as a voice for the people. His performance of “Photocopy (Dagbo)” reflects his long-standing commitment to addressing the realities of Nigerians through music.

African China’s involvement adds a significant voice to the conversation, highlighting the power of music in pushing for accountability and change.
