MultiChoice Uganda has launched new weekly subscription packages for DStv and GOtv, offering more affordable and flexible pay-TV access.

Announced last Thursday under the Ka Weekie campaign, the new packages are designed to offer short-term, flexible viewing options for users across Uganda.

The weekly plans start from UGX 5,000, enabling customers to pay for television content on a seven-day basis rather than monthly or longer terms.

DStv’s packages include Lumba at UGX 5,000, Access at UGX 14,000, Family at UGX 22,000, and Compact at UGX 37,000.

GOtv users can subscribe to Lite for UGX 5,000, Value at UGX 7,000, Plus at UGX 11,000, Max at UGX 17,000, Supa at UGX 22,000, and Supa Plus at UGX 37,000.

PR and Communications Manager for MultiChoice Uganda, Rinaldi Jamugisa, said the development reflects the company’s commitment to aligning with customer needs for more affordable and flexible options.

He stated that the short-term packages offer customers the freedom to manage their viewing based on budget and lifestyle.

Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing at MultiChoice Uganda, described the campaign as a response to repeated feedback from users.

He noted that the new structure targets weekly earners, travelers, and those who prefer to watch content on demand, adding that the initiative ensures entertainment is more inclusive and responsive to diverse economic situations.

The weekly packages are accessible via the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps, by dialing *206#, or through mobile money services including Airtel Money and MTN MoMo.

Subscriptions can also be made through partner banks and selected agents nationwide.

Customers can switch back to monthly, quarterly, or annual packages at any time. If a weekly plan is active, its cost will be deducted from the new subscription.

MultiChoice Uganda, established in 1994, is a subsidiary of MultiChoice Africa Holdings and offers a wide range of entertainment channels through its DStv and GOtv platforms.
