The Super Falcons clinched their 10th WAFCON title after defeating Morocco 3–2 in a thrilling final, further reinforcing their dominance in African women’s football.

Addressing the jubilant team, President Tinubu said:

“On behalf of the grateful nation, I hereby confer on the players and the 11-man technical team the national honour of OON.”

The players, visibly overjoyed, danced and sang, “Na our papa be this o,” a heartfelt pidgin phrase meaning “This is our father,” showing their deep appreciation for the recognition and rewards.

In a lighter moment, President Tinubu admitted that he had skipped watching the final match to keep his blood pressure in check, drawing laughter from the audience.

The event highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to celebrating its sporting heroes, with the Super Falcons’ latest triumph adding another proud chapter to their legacy as Africa’s most successful women’s football team.
