The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has organised a special prayer for the security of the state and Nigeria.
Speaking at the event on Thursday in Ilorin, the Emir commended the efforts of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara towards fighting insecurity and banditry in state.
Sulu-Gambari said that there was need for the traditional institution to be a strong vanguard for the actualisation of the desired peace in the country
He expressed concern over the prevailing insecurity across the country, but commended governments at all levels for their effort in managing the situation.
The Emir disclosed that the special prayer was organised to support government and security agencies in their relentless effort in making Kwara and Nigeria at large peaceful for residents and visitors.

During the prayer session, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr Muhammad Bashir, prayed for peaceful coexistence, religious and social harmony across the state and Nigeria at large.
He committed the entire people of Kwara and Nigeria at large into the hands of Almighty Allah for continuous protection, guidance and provision.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that the prayer was attended by top government functionaries, while the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, was also in attendance.
