Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has spoken out strongly against body shaming, particularly targeting women who undergo liposuction and Brazilian Butt Lifts,BBL.
In a post shared on Instagram, Martins urged critics to stop judging individuals who choose cosmetic surgery, stressing that every woman has the right to make decisions about her own body.
She emphasized that liposuction is not a shortcut to massive weight loss, but often follows significant reduction in body mass, sometimes achieved through procedures like gastric bypass surgery.
The actress explained that liposuction is usually carried out to create more defined results and is not a guarantee of a “perfect body.”
She cautioned that the benefits can only be sustained through a healthy lifestyle, including proper dieting and regular exercise.
“Stop talking down on people who got their body done,” Martins wrote, noting that the process requires dedication and effort.

She added that liposuction cannot replace the need to lose weight beforehand, nor can it serve as a permanent solution without lifestyle adjustments.
Martins further stated that even naturally curvy women face unfair criticism, as many are accused of undergoing surgery despite maintaining their figures through strict fitness routines.
Encouraging women to embrace their individuality, the actress said those who are confident in their natural looks should wear them with pride, while others who choose surgery should do so without fear of stigma.
“You did not create them, so you have absolutely no right to talk down on their body type,” she stressed. “It’s your money and your happiness, too, so do what works for you.”
Martins concluded by urging society to stop body shaming in all its forms, warning that even surgical enhancements require discipline to maintain.
