The Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun has appointed Commissioner of Police, CP, Tunji Disu to lead and coordinate the security team attached to the IGP’s office in recognition of his dedication to policing the nation and ensuring protection of lives and property.

The appointment which was contained in a signal dispatched on Friday indicated that his deployment to lead the security was with immediate effect.

Disu, who was promoted alongside 32 others to Commissioner rank recently, is expected to ensure that there is no breach of security around the Police boss through deployment of other personnel under his supervision.

Credible News reports that the IGP also appointed Chief Superintendent of Police, Ganiyu Adebowale as his Personal Assistant; Superintendent of Police, Adewale Ajibua as the CPO; while Superintendent of Police, Bukola Yemisi was appointed as the Principal Staff Officer III.

Considering his dedication to duties assigned to him, Disu was appointed to lead the Nigeria Police Contingent to the African Union Peace Keeping Mission in Dafur, Sudan.

Credible News recalls that Disu’s achievements over the years were some of the reasons the Lagos State Government requested his deployment to head Rapid Response Squad in order to stem insecurity across the state.
