In a distressing incident that unfolded on Wednesday, armed bandits claimed the lives of two individuals and abducted three others in Tilli village, Kebbi State.
SP Nafiu Abubakar, the State police Public Relations Officer, conveyed in a statement that CP Chris Wane, the commissioner of police, promptly mobilized personnel and resources to the crime scene for an immediate assessment of the situation.
During this visit, CP Chris also extended his condolences to the district head of Tilli village, Alhaji Muhammadu Jabbo Tilli, the council chairman of Bunza Local Government, Hon Umar Ahmed, and the State Assembly member representing the area.
CP Chris offered assurance to the village’s residents, vowing that the police would tirelessly pursue the assailants and secure the safe release of the kidnapped victims.
He emphasized that detectives would spare no effort in their mission to rescue the victims, describing the unprovoked attack as unfortunate and an attempt to undermine the efforts of the security agencies. Such efforts, he emphasized, would face determined resistance.
