He stated that the suspects, aged 18 to 43, were apprehended by the command’s Mines and Steel Development unit after receiving credible intelligence.

Odumosu claimed that they were involved in illegal mining activities that resulted in the destruction of transmission cables and transformers, as well as the degradation of the activity area.

The commandant also stated that five cartons of tiles and a bottle of used explosive were discovered in the suspects’ possession.

“We have launched thorough investigations to determine their level of involvement in the offenses for which they have been charged.”

“Be rest assured that those found culpable would be prosecuted and if otherwise, be set free after due diligence is observed and in accordance with the extant laws.”

During the raid, he claims that some other suspects fled when they saw corps personnel.

He assured that the command would increase surveillance and personnel reinforcement to combat the threat of miscreants and other criminals in the FCT.

The commandant, who stated that they would continue to collaborate with other security agencies to secure the FCT, asked the general public for consistent information and actionable intelligence.

He reaffirmed the command’s dedication to protecting critical assets and infrastructure while combating saboteurs.
