President Bola Tinubu has provided 200 young people in Imo State with modern electrical tools for installation and maintenance.
All of this is happening as 305 women gain empowerment from contemporary, energy-efficient cooking stoves.
The empowerment ceremony took place in Owerri, the state capital of Imo, over the weekend.
In the capacity of the Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil Suleiman Halilu, represented President Tinubu, disclosed that the empowerment was implemented in collaboration with Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Using the newly acquired skills, Halilu warned the 200 program participants to put them to good use. She said, “Now that you have these new skills, you now have in your hands the power to create economic opportunities for yourselves and even for others.”
“The President’s emphasis on job creation and youth empowerment is a perfect fit with the objectives of this program,” he stated. NASENI, a federal organization, is unwavering in its dedication to achieving this goal and giving all Nigerians new opportunities and hope. The importance of technical and vocational skills in the twenty-first century cannot be overstated, particularly in a developing nation like ours. For those who recognize the importance and dedicate themselves to learning and learning again, the financial prospects are endless.
In addition to the 200 Imo youths who received training, Mr. Halilu stated that NASENI also gave 305 vulnerable women in the state “305 Save Energy Stoves,” which were “designed with the aims of improving their livelihoods and contributing to a sustainable and energy-efficient future.”
Governor Hope Uzodimma, for his part, thanked NASENI and the federal government for their intervention, but he also urged the beneficiaries to repay the favor by continuing to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government at the state and federal levels in order to reap additional democratic benefits.
Uzodimma informed the recipients This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance that ought not to be taken lightly. You are being encouraged to be independent and financially responsible by taking advantage of this training. The way you handle this chance you’ve been given will define where you end up in life. I promise that we will keep doing everything in our power to give Imo youths a head start in life. Furthermore, the Imo state government will supplement the funds that NASENI will provide you with for the women.
