President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his unwavering trust in Femi Gbajabiamila, his chief of staff.
This was revealed by President Tinubu just prior to the Federal Executive Council , FEC, meeting starting at the Presidential Villa.
Additionally, the President set forth precise rules for how the meeting was to be run.
President Tinubu addressed issues he had noticed, such as illegal access to the Council Chambers, and underlined the urgency of resolving these problems.
Like everyone else, he admitted that mistakes are inevitable and that they should be admitted and fixed.
The President demanded an end to any campaign of slander and innuendo, expressing total faith in the honesty of his Chief of Staff.
“Let me first reiterate to all of you that there are a lot of stories circulating about what is happening,” he said. I’ve informed everyone in this nation that while I’m human, mistakes will inevitably be made and corrected.
“The Almighty God is perfect. I have complete faith in my chief of staff’s moral character. The blame lies here, and all campaigns of slander and innuendo should end.
“If I make a mistake, I’m willing to own up to it. We’re working together to combat corruption, and we want to uphold the law alongside you,” he declared.
In the meantime, the Council observed a moment of silence in honor of a former FEC member and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Adamu Fika, who died last week at the age of 90 years.
