The management of Kaduna State Electric has taken decisive action by dismissing 39 staff members for a range of offences that violated the company’s policies.
The announcement was made by the company’s Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi in a statement issued in Kaduna.
The offences for which these employees were dismissed included misappropriation of company funds, fraudulent practices, unauthorized access, and abscondment, all of which were in clear breach of the company’s revised employee conditions of service.
The revised conditions had recently received endorsement from the leadership of the two in-house labor unions and the company’s management led by Managing Director Yusuf Yahaya.
The statement highlighted that the actions of the dismissed staff had negatively impacted the company’s financial health and needed to be addressed urgently.
The management expressed its strong disapproval of fraudulent activities perpetrated by staff and emphasized its commitment to taking decisive action against those caught engaging in such practices.
The company hopes that the dismissals will serve as a deterrent to others and encourages customers to refrain from engaging in transactions that involve fraudulent individuals aiming to exploit the company, as such actions impede the company’s ability to meet its obligations to the electricity market.
The statement also urged customers to report any fraudulent activities they may come across, seeking the support of consumers to help identify and eliminate any misconduct within the company, thus ensuring the provision of necessary services to customers in Kaduna and its franchise states.
