In a significant operation, troops of Operation Safe Haven have reportedly eliminated four suspected bandits and apprehended 17 other individuals involved in various criminal activities within their areas of responsibility.
According to Capt. James Oya, the Media Officer of Operation Safe Haven the arrested suspects were involved in crimes such as kidnapping, murder, violent attacks on communities, and illicit drug peddling. These suspects were taken into custody during a special operation conducted by the troops between October 29 and November 5.
During this operation, the troops also managed to rescue four kidnapped victims, thwart six attempts to attack vulnerable communities, and respond to 13 distress calls, demonstrating their dedication to maintaining security in the region.
Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, the commander of Operation Safe Haven, expressed his gratitude to the residents of Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna States for their support of the military and other security agencies in their collective efforts to enhance security within the areas of the operation.
