A secondary school teacher identified as Lateef Olaniran, has been arrested for allegedly raping two young ladies within 24 hours in Ogun State.

The State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Adijat Adeleye, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday.

She identified the suspect, Adewale Olaniran, as a native of Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, who works as a Mathematics teacher at Ebenezer Grammar School, Iberekodo, Abeokuta, and is an employee of the State Teaching Service Commission.

According to the commissioner, Olaniran was arrested on Saturday after a young lady reported that he had raped her.

The Ministry, in collaboration with the police, swiftly responded to the report, conducting tests on the victim and assisting her in making an official police report.

During the arrest at Olaniran’s home, the cries of another girl for help were heard from his room.

This girl accused the teacher of forcibly engaging in sexual intercourse with her and threatening to harm her unless she convinced her family to send him money.

The suspect has been remanded at the State Police Command Headquarters for further investigations.
