The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, on Friday, upheld the election of Barr Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the governor of Enugu State.
A three-man panel of the Appeal Court delivered the judgment in a case filed by the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Chijioke Edeoga.
The court affirmed the judgment of Enugu election Tribunal delivered on September 9, 2023, by the Hon. Justice K.M. Akano.
The Tribunal had upheld the election of Mbah in the March 18th Governorship election.
Dissatisfied with the judgement, Edeoga proceeded to Appeal court to challenge the ruling of the trial court.
However, in a judgement, the Court dismissed the appeals of Edeoga for lacking in merit.
All the three issues which were subject of the appeal were resolved in favour of Mbah.
