The High Commission of Canada in Nigeria on Thursday has clarified that visa application centres in Abuja and Lagos remain open to the public despite the temporary suspension of operations at the mission in Abuja.
The closure was announced following a fire incident on Monday that resulted in casualties.
The mission stated that the decision to suspend operations in Abuja was due to the fire incident, but the visa application centres in both Abuja and Lagos continue to operate.
Processing of applications by Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada , IRCC, clients is ongoing despite the suspension of operations at the High Commission in Abuja.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
