In preparation for the off-cycle Governorship elections scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023, the Police Service Commission , PSC, has deployed its staff monitors to the nine Senatorial districts across Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa states.
These monitors have assumed their duty posts, equipped with reflective jackets adorned with PSC inscriptions for easy identification, to oversee the conduct of the police during the elections.
The PSC, headed by Dr. Solomon Arase, a retired Inspector General of Police, has taken proactive steps to ensure accountability and transparency in the monitoring process.
The Commission has set up dedicated telephone lines for citizens to report any instances of police misconduct or commend exemplary conduct.
The Staff Monitors have been charged by Dr. Arase to execute their duties with diligence and commitment while adhering strictly to approved guidelines on monitoring police conduct and rules of engagement.
