Lagos State Government in collaboration with the operatives of Lagos Waste Management Authority, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, and Kick Against Indiscipline, have sealed five markets in the Mushin and Odi-Olowo Local Council areas of the State.
Officials of the State Government disclosed that the closure results from the markets allegedly contravening provisions of the 2017 Environmental Management Protection law.
The closure is part of the government’s efforts to enforce environmental regulations and maintain public health standards.
However, details on the specific violations leading to the closure of the market are yet to be disclosed.
Some markets in the State have been closed in the past few weeks.
