Captain Alphonsus Alexander Kalthy Bazza of the Nigerian Army has reportedly taken his own life in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.

The shocking incident has left his family in grief and confusion.

According to a close relative of the deceased, Captain Bazza, who had recently become a father, was discovered lifeless, hanging from a tree in a bush on Saturday night. The family is grappling with the mysterious and suspicious nature of his death, as there seems to be no apparent reason for such a drastic step.

The family source, expressing disbelief, questioned how a Captain in the army could take his own life with a mosquito net, an item he used for sleeping. Describing the situation as perplexing, the source emphasized that Captain Bazza had no known motive for suicide.

The family refuted any suggestion of guilt or wrongdoing on his part, highlighting that he had lost a tent mate in Yobe under mysterious circumstances.

Captain Bazza, who got married in 2017 and was a father to a young boy, left behind no suicide note, intensifying the mystery surrounding his untimely death.

The family is struggling to come to terms with the loss and is eager for answers.

The Nigerian Army headquarters has initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to Captain Bazza’s death.

The family remains unaware of any note or indication that could shed light on the reasons behind this tragic incident. As they grapple with grief, they hope the investigation will unravel the truth and provide some closure to the bewildering loss of their loved one.
