President Bola Tinubu has stated his commitment to ensuring that no student drops out of a tertiary institution due to a lack of funds.

Tinubu stated that his administration would ensure that educational institutions have the resources they need to carry out their responsibilities.

On Saturday, he spoke at the 33rd convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, Akure ,FUTA, in Ondo State.
Tinubu, who was represented by Professor King-David Terna Yawe of the National Universities Commission ,NUC, acknowledged the challenges confronting the education sector.

He cited the Student Loan Bill, which was signed into law shortly after his inauguration, as evidence of his administration’s commitment to student support.

“My government will not shirk its responsibilities in this area,” Tinubu said.We will ensure that educational institutions have the resources they need to carry out their statutory responsibilities effectively.

“As President of Nigeria, one of my first acts was to sign the Student Loan Bill into law in order to put this into effect.”

“Under my direction, and as I have outlined, in my manifesto, no student will be forced to drop out of school due to an inability to pay tuition.”
