Three Israeli soldiers sustained light injuries from mortar shells fired from Lebanon across Israel’s northern border.
The Israel Defense Forces ,IDF, reported the incidents, stating that the mortar shells targeted IDF posts in the Shtula area.
In response, the IDF artillery struck the sources of the fire.
Additional shells were fired toward an IDF post in the Yiftah area, prompting further Israeli response.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported concentrated Israeli shelling near several border settlements, and Israeli aircraft attacked several border villages.
The clashes at the Israel-Lebanon border have raised concerns about the potential for a broader regional conflict.
Hezbollah, an Iran-backed armed group dominant in southern Lebanon, also operates alongside Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps in Syria, near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
