The proposed resolutions included the recognition of the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, along with the 27 members who resigned from the PDP. However, emerging details suggest a lack of consensus on these vital resolutions.
Disputing the purported agreements, the Special Adviser on Media to the Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Engr. Boma Precious Kalama denounced the circulated resolutions as false.
Kalama pointed out discrepancies, including the absence of key signatures, such as that of former Governor Peter Odili and Rt Hon Ehie Edison, the speaker. He also highlighted the sudden change in pen color used by Governor Fubara, questioning the legitimacy of the agreement.
In a scathing remark, Kalama expressed skepticism, stating: “Gov Sim Fubara’s supporters do not buy this RUBBISH. I am telling you from a place of authority that this alternative toilet paper is FAKE, RUBBISH, and typed at UST back gate.”
The failure to secure the signatures of all parties on the resolutions casts doubt on the effectiveness of the peace talks, leaving the political landscape in Rivers State in continued turmoil.
