Peter Mbah, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was duly elected as the Governor of Enugu State by the Supreme Court.
The Labour Party, LP, and its candidate, Jonathan Edeoga, filed two appeals, both of which were unanimously dismissed by a five-member panel of the court.
In the lead judgment, Justice Mohammed Garba declared that the appellants had not proven their case. He then upheld the Court of Appeal’s ruling, which had similarly upheld the trial tribunal’s ruling and dismissed the LP and Edeoga’s petition.
