In a pivotal legal battle, the Supreme Court on Monday deferred judgment in the appeal lodged by the All Progressives Congress, APC,  and its Adamawa State governorship candidate, Aisha Dahiru also known as Binani against the incumbent state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri.

Previously, both the state election petition tribunal and the Court of Appeal had dismissed Binani’s petition, upholding Fintiri’s victory.

The Monday hearing at the Supreme Court witnessed arguments from all parties involved, and after careful consideration, a five-member panel led by Justice John Okoro adjourned the matter, leaving the final verdict pending.

The legal tussle adds another layer of complexity to the political landscape in Adamawa State, with both sides eagerly awaiting the Supreme Court’s judgment to determine the final outcome of the gubernatorial election dispute.

The decision holds significant implications for the political fortunes of the APC and its candidate, as well as the governance of Adamawa State.
