Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, along with his colleagues Asake and Rema, did not win an award at the UK’s prestigious music awards ceremony, the Brit Awards.
Burna Boy and Asake were nominated in the Best International Act of the Year category but lost to American star SZA. Similarly, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ also missed out on the Best International Song of the Year award, which was won by Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers.’
This year’s edition took place at London’s 02 Arena over the weekend. Despite not winning, Rema ended the ceremony with an electrifying performance of his hit song, ‘Calm Down.’ He became the second African artist to perform at the BRITs after Burna Boy in 2019.
