Veteran actor Jide Kosoko has decided to postpone his 70th birthday party, due to the economic challenges facing the country.
In a detailed Instagram post, the Yoruba actor expressed gratitude to his colleagues who proposed celebrating his contributions to the industry while he is still alive. He explained that after discussions, they collectively decided to postpone the celebration due to the prevailing situation in the country and the challenges people are facing.
He reiterated that his decision stems from his concern for the masses, with whom he identifies.

He stated: “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my colleagues who proposed celebrating my contributions to the industry while I am still active and alive. This coincides with my 70th birthday this year.
“I sincerely pray that they continue to excel in all their endeavors and remain significant contributors to society.”
He further explained that after discussions with his colleagues, they collectively decided to postpone the celebration due to the prevailing challenges in the country.
He expressed optimism that the challenges Nigeria faces will soon be resolved, bringing happiness to all.
He concluded by emphasizing his decision to postpone the celebration out of consideration for the masses, with whom he identifies. He thanked everyone for their understanding.
