Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, representing the Federal Executive Council ,FEC, expresses deep sadness over the passing of Arc. Gabriel Yakubu Aduku, the former Minister of State for Health, who was 80 years old.
Arc. Aduku was appointed Minister of State for Health during the tenure of late former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, where he played an important role in driving policies that positively impacted the health sector of the country.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation,SGF, praised the late former Minister of State, describing him as a man with a Midas touch. As the Chairman of the Revenue Allocation Committee of the National Constitutional Conference, he spearheaded the creation of the 13% derivation formula, which is enshrined in the 1999 constitution of Nigeria.

Sen. Akume described the late former Minister as a true embodiment of a politician and a masterful architect, whose unwavering commitment contributed immensely to the eradication of quackery in the architectural field through effective monitoring during his tenure as President of Architects Registration Council of Nigeria, ARCON.
He extended his condolences to the Government and people of Kogi State, as well as to the immediate family of the deceased. He prayed to God to grant the soul of the departed eternal repose.
