The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, announced that the Air Component of Operations Hadarin Daji and Hadin Kai conducted successful air interdictions over the weekend, resulting in the deaths of numerous terrorists in Katsina and Borno states.
AVM Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. Gabkwet highlighted that these airstrikes targeted terrorist enclaves and disrupted their freedom of movement, particularly towards soft targets like innocent civilians. One such strike occurred on April 5, targeting a terrorist hideout in the North West of Yartsamiya Village in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina, where 11 armed terrorists were observed moving toward a mountainous area.
According to Gabkwet, 11 armed terrorists were spotted moving towards a mountainous area. Soon after, two more groups of terrorists joined them, all heading in the same direction. It was crucial to neutralize them.
The NAF aircraft engaged the terrorists effectively, resulting in many casualties and the rest fleeing in confusion.

Air strikes conducted at Grazah in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno also had positive results. Grazah, previously a terrorist hideout, was now being used for logistics and manufacturing explosives. Recent intelligence indicated significant terrorist activities in makeshift structures in the area.
“Consequently, air interdiction was conducted at the location with Battle Damage Assessment footages and feedback received revealing several terrorists neutralised.
“These operations, carried out deep into terrorists’ enclaves, will continue as these areas are believed to aid their recruitment, training and nurturing of potential terrorists.
“Attacking their logistics hubs also help in reducing their ability to carry out massive attacks, especially on innocent civilians and troop’s location.
“The provision of timely information/intelligence by the populace has also been key to the successes recorded and will remain so if sustained,” he added.
