Joseph Adebayo has said that the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games, NOGIG, have discovered quality talents to feed the various national sports teams.
Adebayo is the Sub-Committee Chairman of Media and Publicity in the Local Organising Committee of NOGIG.
He disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Monday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium complex, Abuja.
“In terms of international sporting competition, NOGIG has discovered good hands for Nigerian national teams in games like scrabble, chess, tennis, football, and basketball.
“We have discovered talents that can help Nigeria win laurels while competing with other countries.
“If sports were their main skill in life endeavor, they would be among the best hands we have in the country at the moment, he said.

Adebayo said that the 19th edition of NOGIG games has been highly competitive.
He said that he cannot single out the best game in the just-concluded edition, adding that athletics and football were rated highly.
The spokesman said that the games had done so much in terms of keeping oil and gas workers fit to do their jobs.
Adebayo said that preparations were in top gear to make the 20th edition of NOGIG, coming up in April 2026, a great event.
He said that plans are also on the ground to increase gender participation in games like basketball and football.
NAN reports that Team NNPC successfully defended their title as champions of the NOGIG when they emerged as winners of the 19th edition.
They topped the medal table with 19 gold, 10 silver, and 22 bronze medals to beat NLNG with 15 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze medals.
The 19th Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games came to an end after a colorful closing ceremony that featured March past, athletics, and the final of the football event.
