The Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Friday said it has initiated an investigation into the death of a yet-to-be-identified lady, whose body was found after Mpape junction in Abuja.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, told newsmen that the Mabushi Division of the force rushed the body to the hospital, adding that investigations were underway to identify the lady.

“Mabushi Division took the body to the hospital yesterday. We haven’t figured out who she is yet. We are still investigating,” she said.

An X user, #Arike_Jane, had posted photos of the unidentified lady on Thursday, noting that no form of identification was found on the corpse to help contact her family and loved ones.

“This young girl was found dead this morning, after the Mpape junction, around the Abuja flyover which connects Berger and AYA.

“They found no useful information about her or any identification to contact her family and friends. Anyone with useful information about her,” she wrote.

In response to the tweets, some users raised the possibility that she was a “one chance” victim, noting the removal of all forms of identification.

X user David Offor expressed sadness over the victim’s death : “It’s really sad, everyone should be careful how they move at night in Abuja. If you need to go out at night, take a taxi from a park, make a stopover or book one of the logistics services online; “a chance” is always real. May she find peace.”

Another user, KOA said the lady could have been attacked.

“Because of the fact that there’s no device or means of identification on her, she most definitely had been attacked and maybe robbed, and if there’s any sign of injury on her body, this proves it right, that she was most definitely robbed and killed in the process. May her soul rest in peace and God forgive all her excesses,” the user wrote.
