Chief George Moghalu, a founding member and former National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has dumped the party citing personal reasons for his decision.
Moghalu’s departure from the APC, which had been the subject of widespread speculation in recent months, was confirmed on Tuesday. The former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority submitted his resignation letter to the chairman of Uruagu Ward 1 in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The letter, titled “Resignation of Membership of the APC,” was also copied to the Local Government Area and State Chairmen of the party.

The brief resignation letter, dated August 26 and personally signed by Moghalu, stated: “I bring you warm wishes from my family and formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC, effective today, August 26, 2024.”
Moghalu emphasized that his decision was a personal one, expressing hope that the cordial relationships he had built with fellow party members over the years would continue. “I wish you and all the members of the party the very best. Please, accept my best regards, as always,” he concluded.
The resignation letter was made available to the public on Tuesday in Abuja.
