The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, has lauded Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his impressive strides in infrastructural development since assuming office.

During a recent tour of the Kogi State Government House, Maureen Chigbo, President of GOCOP, praised the governor’s administration for its visible accomplishments. Chigbo, who led a delegation of guild members on the tour after the conclusion of the annual GOCOP conference in Lokoja, highlighted several newly completed projects at the government house, including the new executive council chamber, the banquet hall, and the state-of-the-art media centre that hosts LugardTV.

Speaking as a guest on LugardTV, Chigbo commended Governor Ododo’s focus on infrastructural development and his commitment to fostering media growth in the state. She encouraged him to continue delivering purposeful leadership that benefits the people of Kogi State.

Other GOCOP members who attended the three-day conference echoed her sentiments, applauding Governor Ododo’s remarkable achievements within his first year in office.

Credible News recalls that Alhaji Usman Ododo urged members of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, to adopt a patriotic approach in their reporting, particularly regarding security issues affecting the country.

He emphasized that a secure environment is essential for effective practice in journalism. Represented by his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu, Governor Ododo made these comments during the 8th Annual Conference of GOCOP held in Lokoja, themed “Nigeria: Tackling Insecurity, Power Deficit, and Transitioning to Digital Economy.” He acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to enhance national security and expressed gratitude for the measures taken to ensure the safety of the people of Kogi.

“We will continue to support President Bola Tinubu and remain steadfast in our efforts until we successfully combat banditry,” he stated, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the federal government and Kogi State to foster a nation and state full of vision and opportunities.
