The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has taken a significant step in public health safety by destroying harmful products valued at N10 billion in Gombe State.
During the destruction event, which took place on Wednesday, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the agency’s Director-General, disclosed that the items were seized from six states in the North East region: Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Taraba, Gombe, and Yobe.
Represented by Mr. Kenneth Azukwe, NAFDAC’s Zonal Director, Prof. Adeyeye stated that the destroyed items included a range of food products, pharmaceuticals, and other regulated goods. The successful seizure of these products was attributed to the relentless efforts of regulatory and enforcement officers in the region.
“NAFDAC is committed to ensuring that only quality and safe food items, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, chemicals, and packaged water are available to Nigerians,” she asserted.
