A Qantas flight departing from Sydney, Austraila on Friday was forced to make an emergency landing after one of its engines failed shortly after takeoff.
The twin-engine Boeing 737-800, which was en route to Brisbane, experienced a loud bang from the engine, prompting the aircraft to circle back and land safely. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all passengers were unharmed.
At the same time, a grass fire broke out along one side of the runway, though it remains unclear whether the fire was connected to the engine failure. Sydney Airport authorities quickly contained the blaze, but the incident has caused some flight delays as emergency response teams handled the situation.

Qantas reassured the public that an investigation will be launched into the engine failure, and the airline’s Chief Pilot, Captain Richard Tobiano, expressed understanding of the distress caused to the passengers. “We will be contacting all customers to offer support this afternoon and ensure they are well-informed about the situation,” Tobiano said in a statement.
Although the fire has been contained and the emergency landing was successful, the airline continues to investigate the cause of the engine failure. Passengers on board are being provided with assistance, and updates will follow.
