Dismissed Director General of Equatorial Guinea National Financial Investigation Agency Baltasar Ebang Engonga has been reportedly found ‘not guilty’ of any sexual offence.
Recall that the government of Equatorial Guinea on Thursday has dismissed Engonga as financial crime boss after a series of sex tapes involving him and multiple women surfaced online.
Engonga had an intimate situations with several women, with sex tapes, reportedly over 400 in number some of whom are linked to high-profile figures in the country.
This prompted the government to suspend him initially, and subsequently, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo ordered his dismissal.
Equatorial Guinea’s chief prosecutor, Anatolio Nzang Nguema had assured the public that if medical tests confirmed Engonga had a sexually transmitted disease, he would be prosecuted for endangering public health.

However, in a twist of event, the Justice Department and State Law reportedly acquitted him saying: “he didn’t commit any crime, he didn’t commit rape nor child abuse. And in addition, Engonga didn’t spread any infection, all of which would have been an offence that warranted an arrest.
According to the department, all the women he slept with consented to the act and were fully aware of the fact that he had them recorded while in the act.
However in a surprising turn, a yet to be verified report has it that many men have reached out to Engonga to thank him for being an eye opener to the kind of women they married as wives.
Background
The scandal emerged in the course of a fraud investigation against the 54-year-old economist which resulted in the search of his house and office on impromptu notice by ANIF officials who came across several CDs that later revealed his sexcapades with different married women.
Ever since the sex tapes leaked on the internet, different reactions have trailed the news described as the biggest sex scandal in the country and perhaps Africa.
The videos reportedly include encounters with high-profile individuals, such as his brother’s wife, his cousin, the sister of the President of Equatorial Guinea, the Director-General of Police’s wife, and about 20 of the country’s ministers’ wives, among others.
