The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the tragic killing of two individuals and the injury of two others following an attack by armed men in Abeokuta early Monday.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the parking area of Diamond Dumplings, GRA, Abeokuta.
Police spokesperson SP Omolola Odutola explained in a statement that three assailants in an unregistered black Toyota Hilux confronted the occupants of a black Mercedes Benz GLE 350, demanding the car keys. When the occupants resisted, the attackers opened fire, fatally injuring two people identified only as Ola and Shobanke Oluwatimileyin.

Responding to distress calls, the Divisional Police Officer from Ibara arrived swiftly, secured the scene, and transported the victims to a hospital. Upon arrival, medical personnel confirmed two fatalities, while two others are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta.
Preliminary investigations have commenced to uncover the motives behind the attack and any possible connections to cult-related activities. The police assured the public that efforts are underway to track down the suspects, promising updates on the case as they unfold.
