Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of several graduates from the Borno State University and left others injured.

In a condolence message, his spokesperson, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, on Thursday in Abuja, Shettima mourned the loss, noting that what should have been a moment of achievement and joy for these young students turned into an unfathomable tragedy.

” The loss of these promising young lives is not only a tragedy for their families but also for Borno and our nation.

“These graduates symbolized hope, promise, and aspirations of a brighter future. Their untimely passing has left an irreplaceable void,” he said.

The Vice-President extended heartfelt condolences, saying his thought are with  the grieving families who are suffering the loss of their loved ones.

“To the students recovering from injuries, I wish you a swift and complete recovery. Rest assured, both the Federal and Borno governments will provide the necessary support,” he added.

Shettima reassured the families of the deceased students that government is committed to supporting them, emphasizing that the administration of  President Bola Tinubu “will work to prevent such incidents from continuing to take away the nation’s brightest individuals.

“We stand with you in this difficult time. The government will do everything possible to ease your burden and honor the memory of these exceptional young people.”

He concluded with a prayer: “May Almighty Allah grant their souls eternal peace and provide strength to their families to bear this immense loss.”
