Governor Ademola Adeleke has praised operatives of the Department of Security Service, DSS, for apprehending individuals suspected to be members of Boko Haram in Ilesa, Osun State.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday the governor acknowledged the operatives’ vigilance in addressing the security threat posed by the suspected terrorists.

He noted that the DSS’s intelligence efforts leading to the arrests demonstrate the capability of security agencies in the country to safeguard citizens effectively.
Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to working with security agencies and providing support for their activities to ensure the safety of lives and property in Osun State, emphasizing that security remains a top priority.
“This is a welcome development and a big relief, not just for us as a government but to the people of the state and Nigeria in general. I commend the security operatives for their alertness and intelligence-driven operation. We have absolute confidence in our security forces to keep protecting us,” the governor said.
As the Chief Security Officer of Osun State; “I will continue to give priority to issues of security of my people. I will continue to support efforts of security agencies to guard against any breakdown of law and order in any part of Osun. We will sustain the good relationship and collaboration that currently exists between our administration and the security agencies in the state.”
The governor also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their communities to the appropriate security agencies. He reassured them that Osun State will remain peaceful under his leadership.
