Speculations about a relationship between Big Brother Naija star Nengi and Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri have taken over social media, following claims by controversial blogger Gistlover.

The blogger suggested that Nengi had given birth to the governor’s child, hinting at her becoming his fifth wife.

The post read: “SHALL WE?? By the way, she welcomed a child with a governor… 5th wife in the making? Make I talk abi make I face front? All these girls be doing the most, owo ijoba na yansh dey chop am… this gist is super messy… all the hide and seek don end ooo.”

Governor Diri’s spokesperson, Dr. Kola Oredipe, has strongly refuted the claims, calling them “baseless fabrications.” He stated that Nengi has no personal ties with the governor, emphasizing that the rumours are a deliberate attempt to tarnish Diri’s growing political reputation.

Oredipe further criticized the spread of misinformation, describing it as an attempt to distract from the governor’s achievements. “While we were inaugurating a brand-new road in Yenagoa, social media e-rats were busy spreading falsehoods about the governor,” he said.

Despite the denial, the speculation continues to trend online, fuelling debates over the impact of unverified social media reports on public figures.
