A lawyer and policy strategist, Dr Oracle Nwala has emphasized the need for a disruptive strategy to drive Nigeria’s governance and development, urging leaders to challenge outdated systems for national progress.
Speaking at the unveiling of his book, Disruptive Strategies: Unveiling Personal Definitive Strategists, in Abuja, Nwala said Nigeria must embrace bold, unconventional approaches to move forward.
The legal expert, with over 25 years of experience in policy and governance, defined disruptive strategy as prioritizing effective solutions over rigid procedures. He pointed to President Bola Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy on his inauguration day as a clear example of disruption yielding results.
“Let us disrupt things that are not working. The ideas we have held onto that are not helping us should be discarded,” he said.
Highlighting the power of disruption, he cited Artificial Intelligence as a game-changer in technology, enabling young people to achieve more than ever before.
Beyond governance, Nwala’s book explores how individuals can apply disruptive strategies to unlock potential and redefine personal and professional success.
Book reviewer Prof. Ahmed Okene, Provost of National Defence College Abuja, described disruptive strategy as questioning existing norms to achieve better outcomes. He said the book provides a step-by-step guide on applying this approach across governance, business, and personal development.
Another speaker, Mukhtar Galadima, Director of Development Control at Federal Capital Territory Administration, called the book an eye-opener, noting that the Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike is already using this method to achieve results.
The 12-chapter, 331-page book challenges individuals and leaders to rethink traditional methods, embrace strategic disruption, and drive meaningful change in society.
