An 18-year-old girl, Rukayat Ashiru, has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly drugging her boyfriend, Waris Olamilekan and stealing N4 million from him.
The prosecution stated that Ashiru committed the crime on November 30, 2024, at Mufu Lanihun, Yidi Agugu, Ibadan, with the help of accomplices who are still on the run. She allegedly spiked Olamilekan’s drink, leaving him unconscious before making away with the money.
Charged with conspiracy and theft, Ashiru’s actions violate Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Oyo State Criminal Code, 2000.
Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi grants her bail at N2 million, requiring two sureties—one being a property owner within the court’s jurisdiction and the other a blood relative. The case has been adjourned until May 26 for a hearing.
