The Rwanda Football Federation, FERWAFA, has officially named Algerian coach Adel Amrouche as the new head coach of the national team, Amavubi.
Amrouche takes over from German coach Thorsten Spittler.
The 56-year-old coach most recently guided Tanzania at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

With extensive coaching experience across several African nations, Amrouche has previously managed Burundi, Kenya, Libya, and Botswana.
His first major challenge with Rwanda will come in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where they will face Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The match is scheduled for March 21, 2025, at Kigali’s Amahoro Stadium, during the fifth matchday of the campaign.
Rwanda is currently at the top of Group C with seven points.
