The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has announced its intention to investigate the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Osun State, Mr. Adebayo Adeleke.
The agency sent an invitation to Adeleke for questioning on Monday.
A media aide to the former commissioner, Mr. Kazeem Mohammed, confirmed that Adeleke had received the letter and would respond to the invitation soon.
Mohammed clarified that ICPC officials delivered the letter to Adeleke as he was leaving a radio station in Osogbo, the state capital, on Monday evening.
He further stated that Adeleke was not arrested, contrary to social media rumors.
This investigation comes after the Osun State Government submitted a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission requesting an inquiry into the renovation of Primary Healthcare Centres during the administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

The petition named several prominent members of the All Progressives Congress in the state, including Adeleke, whose companies were reportedly awarded contracts for the renovations.
In response to the allegations, Adeleke has denied any wrongdoing, stating that he had already resigned from the company mentioned in the petition.
He also claimed that the current administration, led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, was targeting him due to his exposure of alleged infractions committed by the government.
Mohammed reassured the public, emphasizing that Adeleke would cooperate with the investigation.
“He has been invited, and the ICPC officials who delivered the letter were very professional. He was not arrested. Prince Adeleke even addressed the invitation during a radio program today, assuring there is no need for concern.”
