The Lagos State Police Command confirmed on Tuesday the location where Lagos State University, LASU, graduate, Adedamola Ogunbode, was buried.
This follows the arrest of the main suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo.
Ajisomo, who had been rumored to have fled to the Benin Republic, led police investigators to the burial site of Ogunbode.
The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed these developments on Tuesday.
Ogunbode, a Political Science Education graduate from LASU, had been missing since January 16, 2025. There were rumors that his disfigured body had been found, but it wasn’t until recently that the authorities confirmed the situation.
Last Friday, the police announced the arrest of three suspects and disclosed that five others were still being sought in connection with the murder of the 2024 graduate.
Among the arrested was Whepetoji Sunday, a pastor who allegedly withdrew N70,000 from the victim’s account, and Sheriff Adebayo, a church member accused of taking N300,000.
Further details showed that the prime suspect’s mother, Omolara Ajisomo, had been detained. She allegedly helped her children, Teniola and Olaoluwa Ajisomo, flee after they reportedly withdrew N300,000 from the victim’s account.
The case was taken over by the State Criminal Investigation Department after student unions threatened a statewide protest.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh instructed the department to handle the investigation.
Hundeyin confirmed that Olaoluwa Ajisomo was arrested on Monday morning in the Alakuko area.
He further stated that the suspect had drained Ogunbode’s bank account using the victim’s mobile phone.
Despite social media rumors suggesting that the grave was located on church grounds, Hundeyin clarified that the burial site was in the surrounding community, not on the church premises.
The church was sealed off by police due to intelligence reports of a possible arson attack in retaliation for the murder.
“The shallow grave is not around the church premises, but it is there in the community,” Hundeyin explained. “The church was sealed after reports of an arson plot, and we took that precaution to prevent any incident.”
An investigation source confirmed that detectives were on their way to exhume Ogunbode’s body from the shallow grave.
“I just received information that the newly arrested suspect has confessed to the crime, and the police are en route to the burial site,” the source said.
Hundeyin confirmed this, simply stating, “Confirmed.”
