The Premier League has announced that Puma will replace Nike as its official match ball supplier starting in the 2025-26 season, bringing an end to a 25-year partnership with the American brand.
The shift was confirmed following reports in the summer of 2023 that the league was preparing to transition to Puma after Nike’s contract expires this summer.
Although Nike had the opportunity to extend its long-standing agreement, negotiations ultimately broke down, paving the way for Puma’s involvement.
Premier League CEO Richard Masters expressed excitement about the change, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Puma as the official ball supplier of the Premier League.
Puma has a proud history in football, and we look forward to seeing their new ball in action across our matches.”

Puma, a prominent German sportswear brand, has deep ties to English football, with Manchester City as a key sponsor since 2019 and numerous top Premier League players, such as Kai Havertz and Jordan Pickford, also backed by the brand.
This marks another step in Puma’s growing influence in European football, with the company already supplying official match balls for Serie A and La Liga, as well as the English Football League .
The shift ends Nike’s long tenure with the Premier League, which began in the 2000-01 season.
Over the years, Nike introduced multiple ball designs each season and played a key role in promoting community-focused initiatives like ‘No Room For Racism’ and ‘Rainbow Laces.’
Puma CEO Arne Freundt emphasized the importance of this partnership, calling it an “important step in Puma’s brand elevation strategy” and promising an exciting future for the league and its fans.
“With Puma’s ball at the heart of every Premier League match, we aim to create unforgettable moments for players and fans alike,” he said.
